Champion Stakes made to measure for Magical

Aidan OBrien sensations gentle earth and 10 furlongs may prove conditions for Magical from the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot.
The versatile filly is bidding having won the Fillies & Mares race – after that she moved down all firearms to Empower in the Breeders Cup.
Magical discovered Enable a difficult nut to crack more than one event and has been busy – but victories in Irish Champion Stakes and the Tattersalls Gold Cup have observed her add to her Group One drag.
She finished fifth at that months Prix de lArc de Triomphe – in nine intervening trips – that shes been out of their first two since the race this past year.
OBrien said:Shes an amazing filly. She runs over excursions that are different – shes from her races, and all floor comes equally for her.
Clearly she conducted in the Arc, that was not that long ago. But she seems to be in good shape, and we are looking forward to running .
We think on soft earth, 10 furlongs is likely her trip. She should be very comfortable at it with this ground anyhow.
Runs I Will Fly – agonisingly using just a triumph at Dundalk, although beaten in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes last year to show to her efforts since.
We think I Can Fly might like the earth, explained OBrien.
Her best run came now last year over a mile on tender earth, but she has form over a mile and a quarter also. She is in great shape as well.
Theres been plenty of cash to William Haggas Addeybb this week – but switching to the hurdles track may well not be in favour of their mud-lover.
Haggas said:We are thrilled the race is about and we are thrilled to be taking part. Obviously we expect it rains non stop from now till the race
Magical is really a high-class filly, and he has all to conquer her. Hes got a little to find, but hes a horse when the ground is soft.
Were going to the race fresh, but hell probably will have to be if he is likely to win.
Hes had a fantastic prep and he had a wonderful gallop at Newmarket a week, which will have benefited him.
Id say he is a long-shot on shape, but when he gets his terms he could encounter it.
Deirdre was a surprise winner of the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood – and to prove was no fluke, she then seemed unlucky from the Irish Champion Stakes behind Magical.
Yoshitake Hashida, assistant coach to Mitsuru Hashida, stated:She seems in very good shape. She came at all – so far, so great.
She was unlucky at Leopardstown, and I feel the most frustrated man was Oisin Murphy. It is a day for Oisin, since he is going to be confirmed as the champion jockey – .
They have moved the race into the inside monitor, which will be great. I believe that is the reason we have decided to conduct on Champions Day, instead of going to the Breeders Cup or anything like that.
We believe she is in much better condition than she was (Royal) Ascot – we all believe she is in really top condition now.
We first met Magical in the Prince of Waless Stakes and acquired a bit closer to her in the Irish Champion. We have had a break whereas Magical has conduct another race in France.
Wed prefer faster earth, but I hope she can run a fantastic race.
Having come so close in so many Group Ones, John Gosdens Coronet appeared destined to not win a single – but she struck her duck on her penultimate start at the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, then followed up in the Prix Jean Romanet next time outside.
She will head following that to the paddocks – win, lose or draw.
We waited all that time to get a Group One – and shes won two! Said Richard Evans, that manages Denford Stud.
Its more than we could have wished for – and this is her very last run.
We are just imagining. Soft ground wont be minded by her – she is fine on soft, although she would not want it thick.
Clearly Mr Haggas horse (Addeybb) will love the floor, and Magical is in there, but wed just be delighted to be in the frame – a triumph could be outstanding.
We were just a length behind the past calendar year, and hopefully theyll be shut again, but I believe disgusting and Mr Haggas are the two to beat – and there might be a few surprise packages.
A win would be excellent and a great way to end her racing career. She will be fresh – she hasnt run since winning in France, therefore it might come and ran in the Arc.
The great ones do not come along too often, and it was fine that the choice to keep in training was rewarded.
